Deep Mortar Repointing for Structural Strength & Water Resistance
Pressure pointing is a specialised method of injecting mortar deep into joints of brick or stone structures using a mechanical pump. At Gwynedd Grouting, we use pressure pointing to restore the strength, stability and weather resistance of retaining walls, culverts, sea defences and more.
Unlike traditional hand pointing, pressure pointing delivers mortar well beyond the surface, filling voids and sealing joints that may not be visible, but are critical to the structure’s integrity.
Our Pressure Pointing Services
We adapt our equipment and approach based on the structure’s material, access and condition. All works begin with surface preparation and full vegetation removal to ensure clean, bond-ready joints.

Mechanical Mortar Injection
We use worm pumps to deliver pre-bagged mortar through flexible hoses, ensuring even flow and accurate delivery into joints up to 300mm deep.
Combined Pointing & Grouting
For deeper voids or added strength, pressure pointing is often used in tandem with pressure grouting to create a fully sealed, reinforced structure.

Wall Sealing & Strengthening
By filling internal voids and cracks with pressurised mortar, we help to extend the lifespan of aging walls and prevent water ingress or freeze-thaw damage.
Surface Finishing
We match mortar colour and joint style where needed to maintain the visual character of exposed masonry.
